On 14 – 16 February in New York City, KPMG International invites you to a Summit that will address one of the fundamental challenges of our time: driving sustainable business growth in a resource-constrained world.
KPMG’s Summit, organized in collaboration with the World Business Council on Sustainable Development (WBCSD), United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), will provide business and policy leaders with an important forum to identify and prioritize key sustainability issues including:
| ||►||food and energy insecurity;|
| ||►||complex and evolving regulatory frameworks and policies;|
| ||►||tax regimes;|
| ||►||critical non-financial information streams such as carbon emissions, corporate social responsibility, and the commercial supply chain; and|
| ||►||assurance over these new information streams.|
We are very pleased to announce two very special guests. We are honored to have Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary General of the United Nations open the Summit on 14 February; and President Bill Clinton, Founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States of America - who will deliver the keynote address on Thursday, 16 February.
Attendees will hear from distinguished speakers from the worlds of business, government, and academia who will cut through the complexity of the major challenges, share leading practices, and lend their informed perspectives to targeted industry panel discussions. Importantly, participants will also enjoy opportunities to network with peers from other leading international organizations, as well as KPMG’s subject matter specialists and industry professionals from around the globe.
Our expectation is that the collective knowledge gleaned from this Summit will also be a source of constructive input and momentum for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (“Rio+20”), scheduled to convene in June 2012.
Space is limited, so please register early.
On behalf of our KPMG colleagues, we hope you will join us. We look forward to welcoming you to New York for an instructive and stimulating Summit, as we all seek an effective transition towards sustainable global growth.
